It’s been my
pleasure to be in this program. I cannot believe it comes to the end. I have
enhanced many of my skills I learned to VIEW IN DIFFERENT LENS. I learned to
stand on other viewpoint when making decision. I learned to be ACTIVE LISTENER
in all communication. I learned to ASK before making any assumption.
My long term
goal is to continue to advocate for inclusive practice- including social-emotional
learning! I am working in a high-need community where most of the children live
with their single parent, live in the project, homeless families, or some maybe
parent in the rehab. These children continue to go through a lot of trauma
which may effect their developmental progress, especially their
social-emotional competence. As a result, they may have challenging behavior to
raise other’s attention and/or affect their self-esteem. Therefore, I am
passionate to advocate for social-emotional learning to support them.
I am so thankful
to my instructor Dr. Johnna Darragh for her feedback on my work, they are very helpful and help me
reflect on my practice! I also appreciate the valuable comments from my
colleagues, they have been respectful and supportive. I hope to work with you in some point!
Your passion is evident, even at the end. Congratulations to you on completing this portion of your journey! I am sure that you will attain great success. The children and families that you work with will surely benefit from your desire to learn, improve, and create positive change. Enjoy your future!!

ReplyDeleteYour long-term goal is vital to a positive change in the early childhood field. I agree with you, as educators we should not assume. If we do not know the answer, we should follow up with the correct information. As educators, we must provide a positive social and emotional learning atmosphere. Keep your passion on advocating for social and emotional learning as it has life-long effects on a child's development.
Best wishes to you towards your long term goals.
